Waterloo Region, located in Southern Ontario, Canada, is a diverse and exciting community of over 500,000 people.  In fact, the Region is really a number communities consisting of mid-sized cities, and rural towns.

Waterloo Region is made up of the cities of Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo, and townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot, and Woolwich.  The municipalities’ websites are great resources to learn more about our community and the services available to you.

Local News Media

There are many newspapers, radio and television stations in Waterloo Region to help you learn more about what is happening in our community.  They have local news, entertainment, stories of interest, weather, and helpful web links. 

The Waterloo Region Record is the major local newspaper, but there are many other local newspapers and radio and TV stations. The Waterloo Region Record has a listing of local television stations and programming.

There are also many community or neighbourhood newspapers, magazines, or newsletters.  Ask local groups and neighbours what papers or magazines may interest you.  Settlement.org also has information about Canadian media and ethnocultural and community media.
