Accreditation
What is Accreditation?
Accreditation means giving credit or recognition for skills and knowledge. It is formal recognition by a school or institution for your ability and work in education, training or practice. You must have accreditation for some jobs in Canada.
If you can, you should get your credentials assessed before coming to Canada. Or, do it as soon as you get here. You can get assessed for school or work requirements.
Your credentials from another country may not be recognized in Canada. Becoming accredited in your field in Canada may take a long time. You may need to take many courses or fulfill other requirements. This may be fairly easy or it may take a long time and be expensive.
If getting accreditation in your field is expensive or takes a long time, you could try a different career in your field that will allow you get to work more quickly.
