There are often dentists who are taking new patients in Waterloo Region.  The Canadian Dental Association offers information about finding a dentist and what will happen when you visit one.

Dental care is not paid for by OHIP. Go to Settlement.Org for information on dental insurance plans.

If you do not have dental insurance and cannot afford dental care, you may be able to use a Public Health dental clinic.  If you are eligible, you can get basic care for your children under age 18, and some emergency care for adults.  Find out more about the Region of Waterloo Public Health’s Dental Health Program.

 

Find an Optometrist (Eye Doctor)

Eye care is easy to find in Waterloo Region.  The Ontario Association of Optometrists has information about eye health and how to find an optometrist (eye doctor).

OHIP does not pay for regular eye exams for people aged 20 to 64. OHIP does not pay for eyeglasses and contact lenses.  The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has more information on eye care and health insurance.
