Rights and Responsibilities

We all have rights and responsibilities to follow so that everyone travels safely and is treated with respect.     

Driving

Every driver must have a licence and insurance.  There are no exceptions. There are strict and costly penalties for driving without a licence or insurance. These penalties include large fines, and having your licence or car taken away.

Drivers must also maintain and repair their vehicle and follow the rules of the road and the traffic laws.

Walking & Cycling

• Pedestrian safety offers simple safety rules to follow when you are walking.
• Cycling skills: Ontario's guide to safe cycling offers important information and tips for bike riders.  All children must wear a helmet when biking

 Bus, Train & Air Travel 

• Grand River Transit is the local bus service and has information about customer comfort and safety.
• VIA and GO train services, bus services like Greyhound, and the Region of Waterloo International Airport make sure passengers are safe and secure.
